Job Responsibilities

  • Develop or oversee the development and maintenance of models to be used for pricing, forecasting, or valuation of the Commercial and Government lines of business.
  • Oversee the retrieval and preparation of data used in model development.
  • Monitor emerging experience and analyze actual vs. expected results, focusing on identifying actionable information.
  • Present results of analysis and make recommendations to actuarial management and business executives.
  • Prepare documentation of methods and assumptions used in the models and experience monitoring.
  • Hire, manage and develop staff.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • BS or BA Degree in in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related field required

Experience

  • 7 years - Experience in an actuarial or related field required

Skills\Certifications

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or nearing completion of FSA
  • Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
  • Extensive actuarial knowledge and solid industry awareness
  • Strong analytical skills required in order to define and solve problems using multi-source complex analysis and innovative methods
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills required in order to guide, influence and convince others
  • Ability to manage diverse and dynamic projects under tight time constraints

Medicare pricing experience is preferred.

Experience with Medicare Part D is preferred

Experience with mentoring new employees is a plus.
